Temple Carrig School

In Temple Carrig School we offer our students a wide range of subjects from both our optional long course band and out optional short course band. All students are equipped with an iPad to ensure our learning environment is engaging, interactive and collaborative.

• For the Junior Cert, students will study 3 long courses, or 2 long courses + 2 short courses.

• All students will take 5 week “taster” modules in each optional subject until Christmas of 1st Year, at which stage they will choose which subjects they want to focus on for the Junior Cert.

• The new Junior Cert will involve a degree of ongoing continuous assessment in school, some internally-assessed exams and some externally marked exams.

• Much of the focus of assessment will be on “Assessment for Learning” – ie. Using assessment to guide the students in their learning rather than just producing a final Junior Cert result.
